Salon at the Beach and so much more....

What an amazing time we all are already having here in Puerto Penasco, and it's only day 2 of our adventure!! Last night I slept on the deck outside here at CEDO, and even though it was wet from the moisture in the air, it was serene! Most of us ladies are having a hard time adjusting to not flushing the toilet everytime we go to the bathroom, and taking only 3 minute showers; however,   today a few of the ladies and I had a little salon session at the beach... It was something new, and a nice way for us to help out the locals. The day was a pretty relaxed day besides the little bit of lecture time we had with staff from CEDO and Dr. C.  I learned a lot about CEDO and what they are doing to help the marine life and ocean here in the Gulf. They have a really cool educational program where they go to every 5th grade class here and spend a day teaching them all about the ocean and the creatures that live in it. They also  allow the students to come to CEDO for a day to get hands on knowledge. The walls of the visitor center here are made out of old tires that are filled with sand, pretty amazing! With me just getting done with my Marine Bio class this semester, with Dr. C, today was a nice refresher to the things I have already learned. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings... Loving life! :)
